Mrs. Frances S. Babcock, age 85, passed away March 19, 2008 in Muskegon. She was born on October 4, 1922 to Frank and Eleanor (Radecki) Wcislo in Muskegon and has been a life resident. On November 14, 1942 she married Sidney Babcock in Alexandria, LA, and he preceded her in death on May 7, 1993. Mrs. Babcock was an artist; wood carvings and Santas were her specialty. The making of rosaries was her true commitment. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, the Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of America, and was a Eucharistic Minister. SURVIVORS include 9 children, Chester (Darlene) Babcock of Marne, Kenneth (Sue) Babcock of Baroda, MI, Joseph (Rebecca) Babcock of Twin Lake, Mary (Rodney) Zimmer, Barbara (Robert) Carney, and Victoria (David) Gustin, all of Muskegon, Stephen (Denise) Babcock of Sparta, Paul Babcock of Muskegon, and Patrick (Debbie) Babcock of Evart, MI; 26 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Julian Wcislo of Mt. Prospect, IL; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Babcock held a special place in her heart for Rosemary Klemp and Patricia Carlson. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, Bruce Jude Babcock; 1 grandson, Joel Gustin; 1 great-grandson, Max Potter; her parents; brothers; and sisters. MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown presiding. VISITATION will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. with the Rosary being prayed at 6 PM. Memorial contributions can be directed to St. Michael Church or Hackley VNS Hospice. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery.
