Floyd S. Zerlaut ZERLAUT, MR. FLOYD S. Holton Floyd Storms Zerlaut, age 90, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Floyd was born on September 5, 1915, in Holton, MI to Martin & Elizabeth (Storms) Zerlaut and has lived his entire life on the family farm in Cedar Creek Twp. Floyd attended the Ryerson Grade School and graduated from Holton High School. Floyd married Lydia A. (Kriesel) Anderson on Sept. 1, 1951 and she preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 1985. He married Alice (Adkins) Coon on June 16, 1986, in Holton. Floyd was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church. He served many years on the Cedar Creek Twp. Board and the North Muskegon Soil Conservation District for 28 1/2 years from 1951 to 1980. He also served 40 years on Agricultural Stabilization & Conservation Committee of the United States Dept. of Agriculture. Floyd, in addition to his dairy farming, did carpentry work with his friend, John Slater. He is survived by his wife, Alice; a nephew, Gregory Zerlaut; nieces, Betty Workman, Michele Dekkers, Julie Zerlaut, Mary Giddings & Lori Peoples all of the area. Also surviving are 6 step children and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, M. LeRoy Arden & Wesley Zerlaut; also by his nephew, David Zerlaut; and by 3 of his step children. Floyd was a very loving uncle & step father. His friendly manner and delightful chuckle will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was a loyal friend & neighbor. Visitation will be held on Thurs., April 6, 2006, 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Crandell Funeral Home, Fremont Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. from the Holton United Methodist Church with Rev. Leonard Coon presiding with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. Friends may consider the Holton Scholarship Fund at the Holton Public Schools for memorial contributions in memory of Floyd. Arrangements by the Crandell Funeral Home, Fremont Chapel.
