Florence House

Mrs. Florence House, age 89, passed away Sunday, November 04, 2007 in Muskegon. She was born August 3, 1918 in Summit City, MI to Rueben Clyde and Irma (Nelsen) Briggs. Mrs. House was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church and an active member of Faith Baptist Church. She was a talented seamstress and loved her flower gardens. She was involved with Adopt A Reader at McMillan Public School and TOPS for many years. On February 16, 1939 she married Norman O. House in Napolean, Ohio and he preceded her in death on October 22, 1998. She will be lovingly remembered by her 4 children, David House of Saratoga, CA, Edwin (Darla) House of Sherwood, OR, Linda (Larry) Hecksel of Muskegon, Darleen (Ted) Douglas of Ludington; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Leola Reeves, Ethel Rose and Evelyn Schlotter and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Larry House and 5 siblings, Lewellen, Wallace, Irena, Harley, Gordon and Harold. SERVICES will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Faith Baptist Church (3593 Whitehall Rd.) with Rev. Dr. W. Wilbert Welch and Rev. James Swierenga officiating. Visitation with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. Muskegon, MI 231-726-5210 Memorial contributions in honor of Florence maybe given to Faith Baptist Church or Harbor Hospice. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Manton, MI.
