Flora Mason Johnson

JOHNSON, MRS. FLORA M. Spring Lake Flora Mason Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at the age of 82. She was born to Robert and Linda Mason on March 15, 1923. After being graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1940, Flora attended Western Michigan University where she received her B.A. in geography and her elementary teaching certificate. She taught first grade at Roosevelt School in Muskegon Heights before marrying Frank E. Johnson on July 13, 1946. They were married for 34 years and raised 5 children. Frank preceded her in death on April 30, 1981. Flora was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Muskegon, Chapter Y of PEO, Friends of the Symphony, Friends of Hackley Library, and was an avid supporter of Blue Lake Public Radio. SURVIVORS 5 children: Christopher M. Johnson of Pleasant Shade, TN, Jeffrey L. Johnson of Muskegon, Jennifer A. Bill Grow of Whitehall, Timothy A. Johnson of Sutton, MA, Amy L. Mike Pascarella of Westborough, MA. 5 grandchildren: Laura M. Grow, David W. Grow, John K. Pascarella, Matthew J. Pascarella, Katelyn E. Pascarella. Flora is also survived by her dear friend and companion Col. Thomas Begley of Muskegon. SERVICE Monday, August 15, 2005, 1:00 PM at Clock Chapel with Rev. Keith Koebel officiating.
