Filbrandt, Mr. William "Bill" Grand Haven William "Bill" Filbrandt age 76 of Grand Haven, Michigan died Sunday, February 19, 2006 at the Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in South Haven. 1. William was born May 19, 1929 in South Haven, Michigan to Albert and Leah (Abbott) Filbrandt. Bill served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Bill married Margie Joachim on September 1, 1950 in South Haven. Bill worked for several years with the Ottawa County Road Commission. Bill loved to fish in the bayou and loved to garden. He was known for the best vegetable garden and fruits in the neighborhood. Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Margie Filbrandt, who died Sept. 8, 2000. A sister, Annabell Burrows (2005) and his parents, Albert Filbrandt Sr. (1955) and Leah Filbrandt (1988). Surviving are three brothers Ronald (Betty) Filbrandt of South Haven, Albert (Georgia) Filbrandt Jr. of Jones, Michigan and Harold (Marian) Filbrandt of South Haven. Brother-in- law, Richard Burrows of South Haven. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 23, from 6:30 to 7:30 at the Clock Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Funeral services will take place at 7:30 on Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Harold F. Filbrandt officiating. Burial will take place in the Historic Cemetery, Grand Haven Township. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
