Fenton Dorais

Mr. Fenton E. Dorais, age 91, died Sunday, November 29, 2009. He was born in Muskegon on October 22, 1918 to Jarvis & Ruth (Egerton) Dorais. He married the former Margaret A. Johnson, who preceded him in death in 1993. He then married Bernice Johnson, who also preceded him in death in 2007. Mr. Dorais had been employed as Lieutenant for the City of Muskegon Fire Department for 31 years. He also was a partner in the Andersen-Dorais Construction Company. He was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church, Muskegon Elks Lodge #274, Muskegon Heights Eagles, and the Town Club. He was an avid fisherman, shuffleboard player, & golfer. He enjoyed dancing, small game hunting, and wintering in the Northport, FL area. SURVIVORS Son, Brian E. Dorais; daughter, Marsha A. (David) Green; grandson, Erik D. Green, all of Muskegon; sister, Lois Potter of Walnut Creek, CA; 3 stepchildren, Sharon (Steve) Clarke of Harbor Springs, Sandra (Don) Para of CA, Susan Lemon of Middleville; 8 step grandchildren, Elizabeth & C.J. Clarke, Alyssa & Marina Para, Sean, Rob, Dan, & Tim Lemon; step great grandchild, Logan Clarke; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alfred; sister, Leona. SERVICE Wednesday, December 2, 2009, 11:00 AM at Samuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Marcy Miller officiating. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION Wednesday, 10-11 AM at Samuel Lutheran Church.
