Francis W. Feeney, age 101, of Venice, Florida, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2006. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann H. Anderson Feeney, his second wife, Mary M. Tyler Feeney, his brother, Dr. Kenneth Feeney, and two step-sons, Stan Tyler and Jack Tyler. Surviving are his children, Mary Ann (Jon) DeWitt and Patrick (Jill) Feeney; his niece, Kathleen (David) Borzenski; his step-children, Dr. Thomas (Patricia) Tyler, Penny Stokey and step-daughter-in-law, Mary Tyler; his four grandchildren and six great-granchildren and his nine step-grandchildren, 14 step-great grandchildren and his cherished care giver, Evelyn Morgan. Mr. Feeney attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Muskegon, Michigan and at an early age went to work for Mr. Tim Hume at the Fitzjohn Bus Company, and later became the owner of the company. After selling the bus company, Mr. Feeney moved to Bruges, Belgium, where he built a plant to manufacture busses for Continental Trailways. He was appointed by the King of Belgium as an officer of the Order of King Leopold the Second. After retiring in 1966 Mr. Feeney lived in Palm Spings, California and Nokomis, Florida. He was a prolific writer and his stories were enjoyed by a wide circle of friends. His last story, about President George Washington, was completed when he was 100 years old. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Epiphany Catherdral in Venice on Monday, November 27, 2006. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Muskegon, Michigan with a private family burial service.
