Feathers, Alice J.

Mrs. Alice J. Feathers, age 81, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007 at a local nursing home following a long illness. Mrs. Feathers was born July 5, 1925, the seventh of eight children to Edwin W. and Nora M. (Cain) Helmer in Manton, MI and moved to the Muskegon area in 1943. On December 8, 1956 she married Martin A. Feathers in Muskegon. He preceded her in death on September 7, 1988. They were members of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was part of the Dorcas Women's Circle. Alice was employed at American Coil Springs until retiring in 1964. She is SURVIVED by her son, Martin A. "Tony" (Trena) Feathers, Jr. of Twin Lake and her brother, Stanley (Roberta) Helmer of Sparta. Alice was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters. SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dennis L. Lassanske officiating. Interment: Polkton Cemetery. VISITATION will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at Lee Funeral Home, 2812 Fifth St. 231 733-2152. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
