Reiss, Mrs. Evelyn "Evie" Mae Grand Haven Mrs. Evelyn "Evie" Mae Reiss rose up into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus, and was reunited with the love of her life, George, in the early morning hours of April 8, 2015. She was born on January 22, 1927 to Emil and Estelle (Buczek) Polak. Among the jobs she held were a dental hygienist in Detroit, a timekeeper at Camfield's Manufacturing and several years at the Grand Haven Area Public Schools. Evelyn married George Reiss on February 27, 1948. She was a very devoted mother and wife. She had many friends, the closest being her dear friend of many years, Evelyn Klukos. They spent many happy times together. Evelyn was an avid reader, enjoying her mystery paperbacks. She very much enjoyed tending her flower gardens, while the family cats watched her. She enjoyed her mystery shows and movies and her favorite program was the British comedy, "Keeping Up Appearances" which she called "Hyacinth" after the main character. She was a very devout Catholic and devoted to her prayers. This special lady will be remembered for her constant beautiful smile and laughter. She will be greatly missed by everyone. SURVIVORS Evelyn is survived by her children, Joanie Reiss, Steven Reiss, Terry (Marcia) Reiss; siblings, Eugene (Helen) Polak, Dennis (Diane) Polak, David (Gerry) Polak, Linda (Al) Wildey; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George in 2003 & her parents. FUNERAL MASS Friday, April 10, 2015, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Fr. Norm Droski officiating. Interment in Historic Cemetery. MEMORIAL: St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
