Evelyn Harriet Hoopingarner HOOPINGARNER, MRS. EVELYN HARRIET (RENDLE) (VIS) North Muskegon Evelyn H. Hoopingarner passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2006. She was born on July 11, 1910, to Sidney J. and Sarah (Bischoff) Rendle in Lambertville, Michigan. She was a longtime resident of Royal Oak, Michigan and Fort Myers, Florida. She was a public health nurse in Oakland County who loved to travel. She was a member of PEO-Chapter Y-Muskegon. Evelyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joanne (Vis) and James C. Johnson, of North Muskegon; grandchildren, Lisa (Johnson), and Gary Simms of Colorado Springs, CO, Laura (Johnson) and Thomas Price of Alto, MI, and Lisa (Gifford) and Erik Johnson of East Grand Rapids; her great grandchildren, Ashley Simms, Joshua, Connor and Logan Price, and Haley, Claire, and Cameron Johnson. She is also survived by treasured friends, Marcia Green, Nichele Slazinski, Dawn Hafeli, and Kathy Jurich, as well as several beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, John Vis, and Revere Hoopingarner, her three sisters, two brothers, and her parents. Services will be at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Road, Muskegon, the Reverend William Uetricht officiating on Friday, Jan. 20, at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held one hour before the service. Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery, in Royal Oak, Michigan. In lieu of flowers please consider memorial contributions to Hackley Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice or Every Woman's Place.
