Eugene C. Smith

Mr. Eugene C. Smith, age 88, died Saturday, March 22, 2008. He was born June 28, 1919 in Muskegon to Alex & Alyda (Venenklassen) Smith and married Helen D. Fisher August 6, 1943 in Muskegon. Mr. Smith was an Air Force Veteran of WW II. He had been employed at Gibson Sheet Metal for 40 years and retired from Versatile Fabrications in 1981. He was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed hunting & fishing and also bowling & softball, when he was younger. In his later years he enjoyed boating & golfing, and even had a hole in one at the Mainlands in Pinellas Park, FL. SURVIVORS Wife of 64 years, Helen; 1 daughter, Linda (Don) Krukowski, Glen Allen, VA; 3 grandchildren, Brian Krukowski, Jennifer Konwerski, Tomothy Krukowski; 6 great grandchildren, Yar Durham, Heather Krukowski, Hope Krukowski, Hollyn Krukowski, Forest Konwerski, Cole McLeod; 1 sister, Josephine Feltman, Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter, Margene H. Smith; 3 brothers; Lawrence, Preston, Frederick. SERVICE Friday, March 28, 2008, 11:00 AM at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Pastor Kyle DeYoung officiating. Interment at Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION Thursday, 6-8 PM, at the Clock Life Story Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: In lieu of flowers, Easter Seals or March of Dimes.
