Ethel Louise Young Profile Photo

Mrs. Ethel Louise "Weezie" Young, age 94, was born Louise Olsen on July 10, 1922, and passed away from this world into the arms of her loving Savior on June 28, 2017, at her home in Roosevelt Park. A lifelong resident of Muskegon, Louise married the love of her life, Henry W. Young, DDS, and worked with him as his dental assistant and office manager until his death in 1971. Louise, a lifelong member of Olivet Evangelical Free Church, enjoyed worshipping and the friendships she made there. The real joy of Louise's life was spending time with family-- her sisters, Lillian and Mae Laverne, and many nieces and nephews. Louise loved to sing hymns and even wrote poetry throughout her life. Louise loved her caretakers at Day Spring Assisted Living Center and her caretakers at home, Harbor Hospice's Arlette and Theresa from Alliance. SURVIVORS She is survived by her step-daughter, Mary (Paul) Govert and their children; nieces and nephews: Lynn VanderMolen, Burton Nelson, Marlene DesMarais, Karen (Buzz) Amstutz, Robert (Lanette) Bultema, Mary (Marshall) Hampton, Brian Bultema; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Louise had a special place in her heart for Ami Bultrowiez, a great niece who was more like a daughter to Louise, and for Karen Bultema Amstutz, a niece who was a caregiver and constant companion to Louise for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Linda Olsen; husband, Henry Young; sisters Lillian, Alice, and Mae Laverne; and a host of cousins and friends. SERVICE Thursday, July 6, 2017, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Craig Cramblet officiating. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice Foundation or Olivet Evangelical Free Church.
