LEAFSTRAND, MRS. ESTHER LILLIAN Norton Shores Mrs. Esther Lillian Leafstrand, age 100, died Thursday, November 29, 2001 at home. She was born in Montague, MI on March 11, 1901 to John & Carrie Hansen & married Thure H. Leafstrand in South Bend, IN in June of 1929. Mrs. Leafstrand was a homemaker & a member of Calvary Church where she served on the Mission Committee. She was a member of Maranatha Sunday School, was also active in the Child Evangelism Fellowship, the Widows Agape Fellowship, Christian Women's Club & worked as a volunteer at both Hackley & General Hospitals. SURVIVORS 1 son, Thomas Ardys Leafstrand of Wheaton, IL; 1 daughter, Joanne Jay Sikkenga of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren & 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thure in 1942; 3 brothers, Chester Hansen, Harry Dewey Hansen & Marvin Hansen; 2 sisters, Amanda Letherby & Clara Hansen as well as by a sister-in-law, LaVina Hansen. SERVICE Tuesday, December 4, 2001, 11:00 AM at Forest Park Covenant Church with Rev. Paul Bengtson officiating. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, 6-9 PM at Clock Funeral Home.
