Estelle M. Plichta

Mrs. Estelle M. Plichta, age 96, passed away Monday morning, June 23, 2008 in Muskegon. She was born June 29, 1911 to James A. and Nellie Jane (White) Poulson in Muskegon, and was a life resident. Mrs. Plichta was a member of Fruitport Congregational United Church of Christ. She also belonged to her TOPS group for 45 years. Her home and her family were her whole life. On April 7, 1928 she married her husband of 62 years, Steven P. Plichta in LaPorte, IN. He preceded her in death on August 11, 1991. SURVIVORS include 6 children, Vernon (Shirley) Plichta, of Muskegon, Ivan (Edith) Plichta, of Frutiport, Kenneth (Donna) Plichta, Gerald (Bobbie) Plichta, both of Muskegon, Stephen (Betty) Plichta of Venice, FL, Carla (William) Southland of Muskegon; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Anna Plichta of Allen Park, Beatrice Plichta of Muskegon; several nieces, nephews, and special friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 1 daughter, Jeanie Plichta on June 20, 1991; 3 brothers and 5 sisters. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Fruitport Congregational Church of Christ, with Pastor Don Wood officiating. A time of gathering with the family will be from 6-8 PM Friday evening at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S.
