Erma Lucille Van Dyke

Erma Lucille Van Dyke, age 93, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 23, 2008. She was born in Morley, Michigan on March 4, 1914 to the late William and Lucille (Sprowl) Baxter. She was a resident of Muskegon for most of her life. On May 10th, 1947 she joined William Van Dyke Sr. in marriage, and he preceded her in death on June 15, 1979. Erma enjoyed reading, Bible Study, her grandchildren, and helping out at Barclay Senior Village where she resided and had many helpful friends. Erma is survived by her two step-children, Linda (Roland) Wikman, of Muskegon, and William (Patricia) Van Dyke, of Orlando, Florida; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a sister, Alice Lawitzke, and a brother, Clayton (Hyla) Baxter. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Baxter, of Florida, and Gerald Baxter, of Morley, Michigan. A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the Ever Rest Funeral Home and Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hackley Visiting Nurse Service/ Hospice or the American Heart Association.
