Mrs. Emma Rosetta (Meurer) Heinicke passed away on February 28, 2007. She resided at Northcrest Assisted Living Center and will be missed by residents and employees whom she made smile daily. Emma was born August 7, 1912 in Muskegon, Michigan and attended Muskegon Public Schools. She held various jobs, and on June 29, 1933, became the wife of Joseph A. Heinicke who preceded her in death. She was best known during her lifetime as a wonderful homemaker and excellent cook. She is survived by one daughter, Judy Lea Shatney and a sister, Marjorie (Charles) Benedict. She has two grandchildren. Shelli (Tad) Caswell and Steven (Lisa) Shatney, as well as five great grandchildren, Kayley Caswell, Kelsey Caswell, Courtney Shatney, Payton Shatney and Mason Shatney. She will best be remembered by her family as an expert bread maker, attentive card player and a giving volunteer who stayed active in her community throughout her lifetime. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held Saturday 11 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Norman Droski presiding. Friends may meet with the family beginning one hour prior to the service. INTERMENT: Mona View Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the neo-natal unit at University of Michigan Ann Arbor, a charity for which she continued to knit hats until her passing.
