Emeterio A. (Emery) Cisneros CISNEROS, MR. EMETERIO, A. (Emery) Allegan, MI (Formerly of Muskegon Heights) Mr. Emeterio A. (Emery) Cisneros, age 75, passed away January 9, 2006 in Allegan, MI. Emery was born March 3, 1930 in Benavides, TX to Dionicio and Josefina (Aguilar) Cisneros; one of 13 children. He moved to Muskegon in 1950 and married Jane Dawes in Angola, IN on January 16, 1954; she preceded him in death on December 1, 1999. Emery was a member of St. Jean's Catholic Church, a member of Muskegon Elks Lodge 274; past president of the West Michigan Foundrymen's Society, and served on the Board of Directors for the United Way. He was employed at Sealed Power Corporation, prior to serving as Business Manager for Muskegon Catholic Central High School; he retired from his position as Muskegon Heights City Clerk in 1991. Emery is remembered for his relaxed manner and his dedication to family and friends, especially those in need. He was extremely outgoing and was always ready with a quick smile or laugh. He spent years as a fast-pitch softball umpire and basketball referee prior to donating most of his time to volunteer work with St. Jean's Church or Muskegon Catholic Schools. Emery loved golf and played frequently with friends or his wife at the Elks Golf Club. He attended countless home and away Ohio State football games in the 70's, befriending Coach Hayes and multiple team members. He always enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling to see either his children or family back in Texas. But Emery's life was truly defined by his love for his bride, Jane Dawes. Together they crafted a home and family that thrived on their enthusiasm for life and each other. Friends and family alike will fondly recall this as the lasting legacy of their union. Emery is survived by two sons; Jose' Cisneros and partner Mark Kelleher of San Francisco, CA; Arnie Cisneros and Rena Sykes of Okemos, MI; two daughters, Ana and husband Richard Ortiz of St. Croix, USVI; Sara and husband Michael Hennessy of Cape Cod, MA; brothers Florencio, Jesse, Jose and Manuel; sisters Lydia Teague and Hilda Butler; and grandchildren Elena, Sadie, Michaela, Samuel, Ali Ana and Michael Jr., and many cousins, nieces and nephews with special acknowledgement to Irma Macias and her husband, Ignacio. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held Friday, January 27, 2006, 11 am, at the Lee Funeral Home, with Fr. Phil Witkowski presiding. A Mass in Emery's honor will be said at St. Jean's Church at 8 am, January 27, 2006. A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday evening, 5-8 pm, at the funeral home.
