Emelda Y. Schultz

Emelda Y. (McGhee) Schultz, age 90, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019. She was born in New Orleans LA on September 3, 1928 to Willie McGhee and Orelia Austin. At an early age, Emelda moved to Muskegon Heights MI with her mother and on September 29, 1950 she married Clifford L. Schultz. Emelda and Clifford had 2 children. She resided in SKLD - Knollview Nursing Home in Muskegon until her death. Emelda was a longtime member of Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church in Muskegon Heights MI. She sang in the choir and often was a soloist. Mrs. Schultz was active in the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron. Emelda retired from Meijer Thrifty Acres after 10 years of services. SURVIVORS She is survived by her children, Laurence D. (Janet) Schultz of Richardson TX & Venita R. (Arsemon) Schultz of Muskegon Heights MI; granddaughter, Tiffany Schultz; great granddaughter, Tamaya Schultz; brothers, Douglas (Rosalind) McGhee & Loyd (Jackie) McGhee of Louisville KY; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and longtime friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and sister, Yolanda Raines. SERVICE Tuesday, January 8, 2019, 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service at Greater Harvest Missionary Baptist Church, 2435 Riordan St, Muskegon Heights with Rev. Raymond Setteles officiating. Her final resting place will be with her husband in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
