Elzora Minor passed away on the morning of April 30th, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born on March 21st, 1944 in Wheatley, Arkansas to the late Kathleen McNeal Jones and Leonard Almon Sr. Elzora grew up in Brinkley, Arkansas when she was a teenager, she moved to Muskegon, MI. It was there that she earned her GED and then began nursing school.
Elzora soon realized that her passion and true calling was being a hairstylist and she attended Peggy White's cosmetology school. She took her newfound gift and opened her first beauty salon, Touch of Class, on Wood Street. She expanded her business in the early 70s by opening more salons in Flint, MI. Her friends and family followed soon behind her.
Elzora was a vibrant individual who loved life and made the most of every moment. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed singing, dancing and riding down the highway. She also had a real passion for cooking, and her specialties included soul food, rice pudding, and her famous banana pudding.
Elzora was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her passing is a true loss to everyone who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her generous and caring spirit and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Elzora leaves to cherish her loving memory: 2 daughters, Kimberly Minor, Stephanie (Charles) Ward Sr. 2 sons, Vincent (Theresa) Paschal, Ramon Kareem Minor. Bonus son Brian Paschal. 2 sisters, Vera (Musheer) Rashada, and Candy Jones. 6 brothers, Larry (Alice) Jones, Kenneth (Monica) Jones, Jerome (Joyce) Jones, Vernard (Grifetta) Jones, Darrell (Fatima) Jones, Pierre (Charlene) Jones. 13 grandchildren, Tametia Howard, Shemekia Merritt, Shakira Hill, Vincent Paschal, Day'Ashia Minor, JaQwan Paschal, Shamyia Paschal, Jalen Paschal, Courtney Hill, Jasmine Collins, Tyler Minor, Taylor Minor and Jakaylein Minor. 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special brothers Ruben Pertilla and Dwight McMillan. Special sister/ Cousin Shirley Savage. Special niece Wanda Bass Special Goddaughter Yolanda 'Dee-Dee' Thomas.
Preceded in death by mother, Kathleen Jones and Father Leonard Almon Sr and stepfather Brady Jones. Sisters, Birda Lee Bass, Patricia Ann McNeal, Joyce Ann Jones, Ora Jean McMillian. Brother, Bryant Jones. Children, Jerline
