OGDEN, MRS. ELVA B. Grand Haven, MI Mrs. Elva B . Ogden, age 90, died Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Shore Haven Living Center. She was born in Hesperia, MI on March 8, 1912 to Jacob & Dora Hamblin Kanouse. She married Donald Ogden on August 4,1931 in Grand Haven, MI & was a homemaker. Mrs. Ogden was a member of the Salvation Army since 1923, being the oldest living member & having been very active in the church, also teaching Sunday School. She had sold the War Cry magazine as a young girl & was also a member of the Home League & League of Mercy as well as an avid bowler. Survivors: Son, Donald Ogden of Grand Haven, MI; daughter, Jan Harry Parcheta of Spring Lake, MI; 9 grandchildren; many great & great-great grandchildren; sister, Esther Bishop of Farwell, MI; sister-in-law, Gertrude Purdy of Grand Haven, MI; brother-in-law, Marshall Botbyl of Muskegon, MI; several nieces & nephews. Mrs. Ogden was preceded in death by her husband, Donald on March 21, 1969; son, Gordon Ogden; great-great grandson, Cody Ogden; daughter-in-law, Rose Ogden on April 19, 2002; 2 sisters, Florence Botbyl & Ruby Hardy Cleveringa; 3 brothers-in-law, Russell Bishop, John Purdy & William Hardy. Service: Monday, January 20, 2003, 1:00 PM at The Salvation Army Church with Capt. Dan Leisher officiating.
