Elsie Elizabeth Olson

Mrs. Elsie Elizabeth Olson, age 94, of Norton Shores, passed away Sunday morning, August 17, 2008 at Sanctuary at McAuley Place. She was born on March 3, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Rose (Schmidt) Thomas. Elizabeth came to Muskegon in 1920 and married Mr. Alfred G. Beauchamp in 1937. Together, they owned and operated The Doll House Court, north of Muskegon, from 1958 to 1970. Mr. Beauchamp died in 1979. She was a charter member of VFW Don Rea Post #8864 Ladies Auxiliary in North Muskegon. lizabeth was a past member and volunteer for the Knollview Nursing Center Auxiliary for many years and was a member of Christian Community Center in Muskegon Heights. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Olson; one son, Al (Margaret) Beauchamp of California; one daughter, Lorraine Zeller of Lake City, Florida; two step daughters: Sheryl (Bruce) Eldred of Cedar Springs, RuthAnn (Jack) Spencer of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Charles Thomas of North Muskegon; sister-in-law, Maxine Thomas of North Muskegon; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; special friends, Robert & Mary O'Connor of Norton Shores; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Bert, Frank and Laurence "Bud" Thomas; and three sisters-in-law: June, Joanne, and Tillie Thomas. Funeral services with a VFW Ladies Auxiliary Tribute will be held Tuesday, August 19th at 3:00 p.m. at Ever Rest Funeral Home & Chapel, 1783 E. Keating Ave., Muskegon. isitation will be one hour prior to the service (2-3). Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
