Mrs. Elseta "Sadie" Predko, age 96, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 14, 1920 to Peter & Flavia (Siessere) Corradin. Sadie lived in Muskegon County her entire life and attended Green Creek School and North Muskegon High School. Later in life she was able to receive her high school diploma, as during the times of the depression, she was forced to leave school at age 16 and go to work. Sadie married Stanley Predko in 1941 and they were married 65 years at the time of his death in 2006. Mrs. Predko was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, served as past president of the St. Michaels Rosary Alter Society, St. Michaels Circle, and St. Michaels School PTA. She was named Catholic Woman of the Year in 1976 and was a Cub Scout den mother from 1952-1956. Sadie was a tireless volunteer with Mercy Hospitals RSVP program. She made hundreds of newborn caps for Mercy Hospital and volunteered with the Catholic Central Band Parents and at their fish frys. She received a neon sign for her 70th birthday Sadies Famous Bakery. Her apple sheet pies and slices were famous at bake sales, family gatherings and other events. She was also a talented seamstress, as Stanley built a camper and she sewed the tent without a pattern. Together they traveled and camped all over the country. Her children and grandchildren were happy to wear her clothing and costume creations. Mrs. Predko made toys and dolls for gifts and donations, was an excellent cook, and was also accomplished in knitting and crocheting. Sadie was very active in the Democratic Party and was a crossing guard for 19 years at Craig School. She retired after Stanley to do some traveling and more volunteering. She visited Italy twice and met and stayed in touch with her Italian cousins. She was tickled to become a Great Great Grandmother with five generations to her credit. Sadie was truly an amazing person, both giving and loving and will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Survivors include four children.
