Ella Martin

MARTIN, MRS. ELLA Muskegon Mrs. Ella Martin, age 90, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005. She was born in Muskegon, MI on October 9, 1914 to Charles & Stella Ziczkauskaite Yokubonus & married Eldred Louis Martin on February 15, 1936. Ella enjoyed baking, sewing, playing cards, and gardening. As her children grew, she became more active. She played volleyball, became an avid bike rider, and maintained a showplace garden. Ella loved garage sales and rarely missed a Saturday of sales. When Eldred retired, they spent over 20 winters in Naples, Florida, biking nearly every day. At age 90, Ella was still entertaining dinner guests, baking cookies for others, riding her bike, participating in water aerobics, playing cards, pool & ping pong. She was a member of St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church. Ella will be missed by all who knew her. SURVIVORS 6 children, June Martin, O.P. of Commerce, MI, Helen Tom Towne of Port Charlotte, FL, Louise Tom Matz of Muskegon, Paula Mike Martin Skinner, Elsa Jim Skipper of Cadillac, MI & Laura Martin of Muskegon; 16 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Ann Blaske of Muskegon; 1 brother, Charles Yokubonus of FL; many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldred on June 12, 2002; 1 sister, Sophie Dykema & 2 brothers, John & Tony Yokubonus. MEMORIAL MASS Saturday, May 7, 2005, 11:00 AM at St. Jean Baptiste Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Wyse officiating. VISITATION Friday, 7-9 PM at Clock Funeral Home.
