Ella M Karel

Mrs. Ella Marie Karel, age 87, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017. She was born in Grand Haven, Michigan on May 20, 1930 to Orrin & Katie (Deephouse) Sheffield and married Claude Karel on August 18, 1949. Ella worked with her husband at Karel's Toys and Hobbies for over 30 years until the store closed. Then she worked as a Hostess for Russ' Restaurant for over 30 years until retiring and later at the Getty Street Grill. Ella was a member of Berean Church. She loved Hockey and attending games at the L.C. Walker Arena where her husband announced the games for 35 years. SURVIVORS Sons, Gary (Ron Hatcher) Karel of FL, Rick Karel of Muskegon; daughters, Ruth (Robert) Archer of Grand Haven, Gail VanRees of Spring Lake; grandchildren, Robyn, Ryan, Amanda, Jacob, Kaitlin, Sarah, Abigail, Ethan, Justine, Jacquelyn & Bailey; many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude in 2009 and brother, Orrin. SERVICE Monday, October 2, 2017, 11:00 am at the Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Dr. Robert Renberg officiating. Interment in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION Sunday, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Clock Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: Berean Church.
