Elinor D. Rosema ROSEMA, MRS. ELINOR D. (Widow of James) Muskegon Mrs. Elinor D. Rosema, age 80, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 5, 2006 at her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Rosema was born June 19, 1925 to Fred and Jennie (McKay) Gonyon in Pittsville, Wisconsin. On October 2, 1946 she married James "Jim" R. Rosema in Hingham, MA. He preceded her in death on February 12, 1988. Elinor was employed as an advertising manager for K-Mart, retiring in 1980. She was also a nanny for many years for several families. Elinor loved to cook and had her own cookbook "From the Kitchen of Elinor Rosema" published. Her SURVIVORS include her 2 daughters, Dr. Kathy Rosema of Muskegon and Debra (Daniel) Slot of Rockford, MI; 5 grandchildren, Mack James & Meghan McKenzie, Michael, Danielle and Joel Slot; 1 brother, Ralph Gonyon; 4 sisters, Genevieve (George) Rosema, Claribelle (Bill) Moore, Betty (Jerry) Shunk, Carol (Joe) Feldman; 1 sister-in-law, Iris Gonyon; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Jason Ryder, Lorraine Califf, Hubert Schmidt, Mike Hansen, and Val Pringle. Elinor was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Edward, Albert, and Wilfred Gonyon; and 2 sisters, Bertha Venne and Beverly Rosema; and special friend, Madeleine Keur. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Sytsema Funeral Homes 737 Apple Ave. 231 726-5210 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Wednesday, and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday.
