Mrs. Elaine Isabelle Caffery, age 86, passed away early Friday morning, August 15, 2008. She was born March 20, 1922 to Richard and Della Mary (Shirts) Hammond. Elaine married Leonard Caffery on September 5, 1940 in Shelby. He preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by 2 daughters, 1 sister, 1 brother, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Elaine was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind.
