Edwin J. Sikkenga

Mr. Edwin J. Sikkenga, age 84, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, October 15, 2008. He was born in Montague, MI on May 1, 1924 to Henry and Agnes (Weesies) Sikkenga. Mr. Sikkenga retired from Edwin J. Sikkenga Agency. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, former elder and deacon at New Era Christian Reformed Church, Director of the Newman Chapel, member of the American Legion of Muskegon, and volunteered in Oceana County for the Red Cross. Mr. Sikkenga loved traveling and camping with his grandchildren. On May 23, 1947, he married the former Wilma A. Kalsbeck, and she survives him along with 5 children, Marcia K. (William) Romanosky of Walkerville, MI, Edwin J. (Rebecca) Sikkenga, Jr. of Montgomery, TX, Stephen H. (Jill) Sikkenga of Whitehall, MI, Carolyn J. (Ross) McElroy of Holt, MI, and Daniel W. (Heather) Sikkenga of Adrian, MI; 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Dr. Roger (Joan) Sikkenga of Fremont, MI; sisters, Florence Saunders and Dorothy Zuidema both of Muskegon, Betty (Dr. Glen) Niemeyer of Jenison, MI; sister-in-law, Eleanor Sikkenga of Montague; and brother and sister in laws, Lester and Marilyn Jordan of Muskegon. Mr. Sikkenga was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Agnes; and 2 brothers, Harold and Robert Sikkenga. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 11 AM Saturday at The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 with Rev. Michael Borgert officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8PM Friday and 1 hour prior to the service, from 10-11AM. Memorial Contributions to Western Michigan Christian High School or CRWRC Missions will be appreciated.
