Edward A. Fleischman, age 90, of Grand Haven passed away early Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at a local hospital. He was born October 25, 1917, in Chicago, IL, to Anton and Mary (Sucholas) Fleischman, and he married the former Maxine Settergren on August 22, 1959, in Muskegon. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2006. Mr. Fleischman had resided in the Tri-Cities area since 1923 and was formerly employed as a manager at Teledyne Continental Motors for 42 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, during which time he also served in the European Theatre, and he was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand Haven. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #28, the Elks Lodge, and a charter member of the Grand Haven Golf Club. Ed loved to golf, fish and work in the yard with his late wife, Maxine. Survivors include special nieces and nephews: Pat and Marion Marshall, Carol and Gunnard Oslund, Marilyn and Rick Schiefebein and families; Carol and Dave Pear; sister-in-law Delores (Ernie) Johnson; special friends Thom and Louise Poel and family. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Grand Haven with Rev. Fr. William Langlois as celebrant.
