Edward Lee Barnes, age 70, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023. He was born in Muskegon, MI on July 13, 1952 to Leonard & Weddie (Williams) Barnes. He graduated from Muskegon High School, and served his country in the US Marine Corps in Vietnam. He married the former Brenda Brown on July 14, 2010. Mr. Barnes had been employed as a Leather Cutter for Eagle Ottawa Leather for 40 years. Edward accepted Christ when he was young at Greater Harvest and later became a member of Unquenchable Fire Ministries. He was the "King of Fishing" and loved to fish on his boat Ed's Fishing Machine. Edward was well respected as the neighborhoods block captain, and always kept the neighborhood safe. He was well loved, and had a deep love for children and his family.

Wife, Brenda Barnes; children, Deon (Kelley) Barton, Sherhonda Mack, Dwonna (Michael) Thomas, Brandon Tjapkes, Bridget Barnes, Brittney Barnes, Edward Barnes III, Jamie Barnes; step-children, Shania (Kevin) Floyd, Crystal (Henry) Burt; siblings, Carlen (Carol) Jean Barnes, David Brown-Barnes, Mildred Lee Gill, Sara (Henry) Jackson, Bonnie Ray Davis, Patsy (Tommy) Ruth Latin; many grand children and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard & Weddie (Williams) Barnes; children, Keyondra Shanks, Edward Barnes Jr.; siblings, Geniva Barnes, Estell Barnes, Jeraline Barnes, Pauline Barnes, Leonard Barnes Jr., Louise Barnes, Edward Barnes; some neices, and nephews.
SERVICE
Friday, May 5, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Church with Suffragan Bishop Avery Burrel officiating. Interment in Mona View Cemetery.
