Edith Kemp

Mrs. Edith Jean Kemp, age 92, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan, on May 9, 1925, to William & Bertha (Vanderlaan) Rollenhagen and married John Kemp on May 28, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2004. Edith was an administrative assistant at Continental Motors during WW2 and then was a bookkeeper for K-Mart after her children were grown. She was a longtime active member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she helped keep the books. She was an avid reader, a dedicated grandma, and a lover of games, cards, and golf. She and John traveled Europe and the U. S. after retirement and spent many winters in Florida. Edith will be greatly missed by all who knew her. SURVIVORS Daughter, Debra (Sexton Reed Freemon) Kemp of Denver, CO; Son, Robert (Michelle) Kemp of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, Ethan, Jenna and Brennan Kemp; She was preceded in death by 2 brothers William and Robert Rollenhagen. SERVICE Friday, December 1, 2017, 11:00 am at Clock Chapel - Muskegon with Rev. Curtis Freed officiating. Interment in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION Friday, December 1, 2017, 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
