Eddis Lee Jones, a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and respected member of the community, passed away on September 20, 2023, at the age of 63 in Muskegon, MI. Born on January 19, 1960, in New Orleans, LA, to Alfred Sr. and Clara (Henderson) Jones. Eddis's journey was one of dedication and continuous learning. After graduating from Muskegon High School in 1979, he embarked on a quest for knowledge, earning two Bachelor's Degrees, and a Master's Degree. His commitment to education manifested in his career as a School Administrator, where he positively impacted the lives of countless students and staff. Eddis served diligently at Muskegon Public Schools, Muskegon Heights Public School Academy System, and Muskegon Covenant Academy, leaving an indelible mark on the educational landscape. His passion for the youth didn't stop there. He was a proud board member of the Boys and Girls Club. He also served as a member of the Optimist Club for several years. Eddis accepted Christ as his savior at an early age, he was a devout and cherished member of Kingdom Embassy Covenant Church. He served wholeheartedly in various roles, from ministering, being a member of the prayer team, to the men's choral group. In his leisure time, Eddis loved to bake and cook for his family and friends. His love for football was outmatched. He began playing at an early age. This led to a rising high school football career. He was a devout Muskegon Big Reds fan, and hardly ever missed a game. He also coached football and the middle school and high school level for several years. In addition to sports and cooking, music was also an extreme passion of his. He was a talented singer, song writer, and vocal coach. In musical groups such as Dread Naught, Satin + 4, and Crush along with his brother-in-law Breck Chandler Sr. Eddis Lee Jones was the epitome of a family man and loved spending time with his family, especially making memories with his loving wife. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, he brought joy and purpose to the lives he touched. As we bid farewell to Eddis, let us carry forward his legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering commitment to education and serving the Lord.


SURVIVORS

Wife: Yevette; children, Chanice, Julian, Audrianna; grandchildren, Kanyla, Rilynn, Kantrell, Dakota; sisters, Lynn (Doug) Jones-Kelley, Pamela (Breck) Chandler; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Jones Sr.; mother, Clara Jones Henderson; siblings, Alfred Jones Jr., Doris Alfred, Mae Kelly, Nauvin Florien Jr., Diann Mallory-Reed, Andrea Lee Banks, Earl Lee Jones; aunts, and uncles.
