SCHAAP, MR. EARL ''RED'' M. Newberry, MI Mr. Earl ''Red'' M. Schaap, age 87, died Thursday, October 9, 2003. He was born in Zeeland, MI on August 30, 1916 to Cornelius & Fanny Barnum Schaap & married the former Dorothea Johnston in Las Vegas, NV on September 10, 1942. Mr. Schaap served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII & had been a self employed accountant at Schaap Accounting Service. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Newberry, Newberry Elks Club & a life member of the Newberry Country Club. Mr. Schaap was an avid golfer, hunter & fisherman. SURVIVORS 1 son, Dr. Thomas Mary Grace Schaap of Dunwoody, GA; 1 daughter, Bonnie Witt of Muskegon, MI; 4 grandchildren, Amy Witt-Kisosondi, Eric Wittt, Anne Schaap & Neil Schaap; 1 sister, Ethlyn Garrod of Ft. Meyers, FL; cousins, Charles & Carolyn Schaap of Holland, MI; 1 son-in-law, Michael Witt of Muskegon, MI; friend, Joseph Frazine of Muskegon, MI & special friend, Karen Reed of Muskegon, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothea in 1994 & by a son, Paul in 1998. MEMORIAL SERVICE Friday, October 24, 2003 at First Presbyterian Church of Newberry.
