Mr. Earl Clinton Rollins Jr., age 79, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on May 31, 1937 to Earl & Frieda (Leyrer) Rollins and served his country in the US Army. He married the former Bobbie (Burger) Gibson on February 11, 1989. Mr. Rollins had been employed at GTE for 35 years until retiring as a senior engineer. Earl was a former member of the Fruitport Eagles and liked hunting and fishing. He was also a writer of wonderful short stories and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. SURVIVORS Wife of 27 years, Bobbie; son, Clinton James Rollins of Fruitport; daughters, Camille Mitchell of Cloverville, Carmen (Todd) Flickinger of Muskegon, Candace Saya of Ludington; step children, Bill (Lori) Gibson, James Gibson, Debra (Mike) Thompson; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; sisters, twin Mae (Clyde) Shelkey, Shirley (Frank) Bunce; brother-in-law, Thomas (Mary) Burger; sisters-in-law, Betty Ledford, Ruby (Clyde) Borden, Linda Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Earl Clinton III "Butchie"; stepdaughter, Mona Cook; grandson, Jared. SERVICE Wednesday, August 17, 2016, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service at Clock's Sunset Celebrations with Rev. Edward Arndt officiating and Military Honors under the Auspices of the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. Interment in Fruitland Township Cemetery. MEMORIAL: Harbor Hospice Foundation.
