Earl "Lefty" Nichols Jr.

EARL NICHOLS Mr. Earl Nichols, Jr. age 81, died Monday, May 29, 2006. He was born in Ganges, MI on July 30, 1924 to Earl, Sr & Georgia (Ellis) Nichols and married the former Alvianell Brown on August 3, 1946. Mr. Nichols had served his country in the US Army during WWII. He had been employed at Challenge Stamping Porcelain for 28 years until retiring in 1987. He was a life member of Muskegon D.A.V. and of the Grand Haven V.F.W.. He enjoyed tinkering with motors, traveling, fishing and gardening, but foremost was his family. Survivors: Wife of 59 years, Alvianell "Chris"; son, Earl (Theresa) Nichols of WA; daughter, Carolyn (Dean) Knutson of Grand Haven; 5 grandchildren, Todd (Nancy) Knutson, Keith (Brenda) Knutson, Jeff (Sue) Nichols, Deanna Lopez, Julie (Jeff) Cardot; 8 great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Ruth (George) Histman of Grand Haven, Betty Lou Goodin of Hesperia, MI, Ellen Hitsman, Alice (Tom) Roberts, Mary Ann (Jim) Hancock, all of Grand Haven; brother, David Nichols of FL; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Orin, Jim, Danny; 2 sisters, Irma Larson, Joyce Taylor; grandson, Jeremy Nichols. Funeral Services for MR. NICHOLS, will be held at Wednesday, May 31, 2006, 3:00 PM, at United Lutheran Church of West Olive. Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-3 PM at the church.
