Mrs. E. Jeanette DeGraves, age 68, of Fruitport Township, Muskegon, MI, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Poppen Hospice Residence. She was born May 6, 1939 in Wallis, North Carolina to the late Paul and Hazel (Hobbs) Williams. Jeanette married Mr. Bernard DeGraves on October 10, 1959. She was a member of Olivet Reformed Church. She was a Rebel of the Red Hat Society, was a NASCAR fan, and loved to cook and knit. Besides her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her father-and mother-in-law, Peter Joseph and Adrianna DeGraves; sister-in-law, Geraldine DeGraves; niece, Stephanie Schmidt. Surviving are her husband of 48 years of marriage, Bernard; son, David and Nancy DeGraves of Alabama; daughter, Lynn and Roger Welmerink of Muskegon; grandchildren: Peter, Holly, Kyle, Paul, Kimberly, Rebecca, and Adrianna; great grandson, Christopher; brothers and sisters: Carroll and Dee Williams, Rebecca and Larry Parr, Greg Williams, all of Florida, and Paula and Sam Cartrett of North Carolina; brother-in-law, Clarence DeGraves of Muskegon; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and John Schmidt of Tennessee; aunt and uncle, Grace and Glenn Erickson of Muskegon; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends: Paul and Janet Thoma, and Pat and Dale Carr, all of Muskegon. Memorial Services for Jeanette will be Friday, February 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Olivet Reformed Church, 2018 Shettler Rd., Muskegon, with Reverend Russell Kamp officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service (10-11). Interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please consider the Building Fund of Olivet Reformed Church or Poppen Hospice Residence.
