Duiser, Marian L.

Mrs. Marian L. Duiser, age 81, beloved wife and mother, went to be with her Lord Saturday morning, February 3, 2007. She was born January 10, 1926 in Muskegon to James G. & Anna (Borgerding) Hoffman and had been a life resident. Marian was an active member of Unity Reformed Church where she had previously served as choir director and on the decorating committee; and presently was a pianist and member of its XYZ Group. She enjoyed knitting and music but above all was her devotion to her family. On June 12, 1947 she married James R. Duiser and he survives her along with 5 children, Carole (Dennis) Vennema of Muskegon, Wayne (Kathy) Duiser of Muskegon, Lori (Rev. Bruce) Osbeck of Wyoming, MI, Larry (Betty) Duiser of Norton Shores and Shari (Peter) Boterenbrood of Norton Shores; 12 grandchildren, Amy (Ronald) Wildey, Scott (fianc'e Lisa DeYoung) Vennema, Caryn Vennema, Derek (Nicole) Duiser, Danielle (Richard) Briseno, Kyle Duiser, Alison Duiser, Jared Osbeck, Tim Duiser, Patrick Duiser, Zachary Boterenbrood and Megan Boterenbrood; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, Agnes (Gerald) Duiser of Muskegon. Marian was preceded in death by her grandson, Neil Duiser, in 1988 and by 3 brothers, George, Herman and James J. Hoffman and by 3 sisters, Eva Olthoff, Frieda Swiftney and Beatrice Minuth. FUNERAL SERVICES celebrating the life of Marian will be held 11 AM Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Unity Reformed Church (1521 Porter Rd) with Pastor Kyle DeYoung officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION with Marian's family will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Tuesday at Sytsema Funeral Home 737 Apple Avenue 231-726-5210 and one-hour prior to the service at the church.
