Duane Richard Guerne

GUERNE, DUANE RICHARD, SR. Duane Richard Guerne, Sr., age 89 of Norton Shores, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 11, 2022. Dick was born on May 17, 1932, in Muskegon. The son of George Phillip Guerne and Emma Ruth (Taylor) Bunnell, and graduated from North Muskegon High School with the class of 1950. Dick worked for Aero Manufacturing Company in Muskegon Heights for about 38 years. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, coin collecting and spending time with family and friends. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all. Dick was an active member of St. Mark Lutheran Church for many years. During that time, he served as treasurer and volunteered in Stephen Ministries. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Lynne M (Wickstrom) Guerne; three sons, Duane (Joni) Guerne, Jr, Michael (Joni) Guerne, David (Karen) Guerne; a daughter, Mary (Mike) Israel; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Rottman, Joseph (Jennifer) Guerne, Tim Guerne, Amy (Jason) Frens, Laura (Nicholas) Lockwood, Steven (Audrey) Guerne, Stacy (Daniel) Koert, Samantha Israel, Sara Israel, Dylan Israel; twenty-one great-grandchildren; half-sisters, Ruth Bunnell, Evelyn Neibarger, Clione Carr, Cheryl (George) Horn; half-brother, Merit (LaVon) Guerne. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; Step-father Glen Bunnell; a half- brother, John (Betty) Bunnell. There will be a private family celebration of life at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church.
