Dr. Robert Wickland

Dr. Robert E. Wickland, age 88, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013. He was born in Muskegon, MI on December 13, 1924 to Elmer & Alice (Thompson) Wickland and served his country in the US Navy. Dr. Wickland married the former Shirley Jacobson and had been a Dentist in Roosevelt Park for 36 years until retiring. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Michigan Dental Association. Robert was very active and spent much of his time at the Y.M.C.A. He also enjoyed running, walking, downhill skiing, cross country racing, biking, and the outdoors. He was an avid fan of U of M football, basketball, and North Muskegon sports. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the caring staff at Brookhaven Medical Facility and to their special friend Linda Noble. SURVIVORS Wife of 58 years, Shirley; son, Scott (Holly) Wickland of Grand Rapids; daughter, Laurie (Bill) Eggers of CT; grandchildren, Anna (Lucas) Voelk & Ross Katten; brother, Charles (Janice) Wickland of CO; sister, Mary Wickland of CO; sister-in-law, Dottie Wickland of Spring Lake; several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Wickland and sister, Marva Jane Kirby. MEMORIAL GATHERING Tuesday, March 12, 2013, 4-7 PM at the Clock Funeral Home-Muskegon.
