Dr. Thomas J. Russell

RUSSELL, DR. THOMAS J. North Muskegon Dr. Thomas J. Russell, age 80, died Friday, July 14, 2006 after a long illness. He was born April 9, 1926, in Grand Rapids to Harold John Russell and Margaret (Horton) Russell. After Serving in the Merchant Marines in World War II, he graduated from The University of Michigan Dental School. He married Sue (Oxford) Russell on April 20, 1946. She peceded him in death on September 20, 2005. During the Korean War, Dr. Russell served in the U.S. Army (First Lieutenant) as a dentist. He practiced dentistry for 40 years in the Medical Arts Building in downtown Muskegon. He semi-retired in 1997. In his retirement, he cared for patients in area nursing homes. He was a man with a big heart who loved people and who always answered their calls for help, day and night. Dr. Russell was a member of Muskegon Country Club and was an avid skier and golfer. SURVIVORS He is survived by a daughter, Sally Russell and grandson Simon, of Melbourne, Austrailia; and son Timothy Oxford Russell and his wife, Laurie, of North Muskegon and children, Cody and Chelsea Russell of Phoenix, Ariz., and Hailey Russell of North Muskegon.
