Dr. Leland "Lee" Holly II, MD of Whitehall, born August 7, 1926 in Hastings, MI, to Dr. Leland E. Holly & Enid (Bauer) Holly. Dr. Leland E. Holly II attended Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, graduating in 1944 and continuing on to Harvard University for 2 years. Lee entered the United States Navy where he served in the Pacific Theatre. After serving his time in the Navy, he returned to Harvard to finish his degree in pre-med, and later graduating in 1954 from Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. Lee finished his internship & residency at Harper Hospital in Detroit allowing him to return to Muskegon to practice radiology. In 1951, he married Enid Stockbridge (Stocky) Holly. Dr. Holly served as the secretary of the Michigan State Medical Society; was a member of the White Lake Golf Club; a member and commodore of the WLYC where he also served as secretary/treasurer; president of Rotary Club of Muskegon; president of the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce; member of Fin & Feather in Baldwin & was influential in having the first Muskegon Health Fair at the Walker Arena. He shared his love of the outdoors and being active with his family through hunting, fishing, skiing and competitive sailing. SURVIVORS Wife, Enid "Stocky" Holly; sons, Leland "Ande" (Charlotte) Holly III of Wexford, PA, David Stowe Holly of Whitehall, Douglass (Jill) Holly of Grand Rapids; daughter, Susan (Brent) Peterson of Whitehall; grandchildren, Lindsay Holly (Tyler Smith, fianc), Lauren (Andy) Millsaps, Andrew (Erin) Holly, Adam (Katie) Holly, Peter Holly (Cynthia Sasiela, fianc), Jennifer Peterson, Steven Peterson; great-grandchildren, Holly Millsaps, Axel Millsaps, Kaiya Sutton, Ayden Sutton, Anderson Holly, Makenna Holly. He was preceded in death by grandson, Leland "Leef" Holly IV. SERVICE Tuesday, June 26, 2018, 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior at First Congregational Church UCC with Rev. Timothy D. Vander Haar officiating. MEMORIAL: In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations in his memory to the Whitehall Howmet Playhouse or the First Congregational Church UCC of Muskegon.
