KERSTING, MR. DOUGLAS ROBERT Muskegon, MI Mr. Douglas Robert Kersting, age 80, went to be with his Lord Thursday, May 1, 2003. He was born in Muskegon, MI on January 19, 1923 to Henry & Cora Schutter Kersting & married the former Gertrude Kieft on April 25, 1947 in Muskegon, MI. Mr. Kersting served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in New Guinea & the Phillipines. He had been employed as an Inspector at Brunswick Corp. for 45 years until retiring in 1985. Mr. Kersting was a member of Berean Church & formerly Church of The Open Door where he had been an Elder & Deacon. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, ride his motorcycle, work with wood & enjoyed reading. SURVIVORS 2 daughters, Nan Jim Karkosky of Puyallup, WA & grandchildren, Joanna & Jonathan Karkosky; Barbara Mike Falkowski of Nunica, MI & grand- children, Rachael Brenden Wallace, Keith & Deanna Falkowski; 3 sisters, Betty Ebert of Muskegon, MI, Corrine Woodrum of FL & Verna VanderWel of Muskegon, MI; 1 brother, Marvin Kersting of Muskegon, MI; brother-in-law, John Kieft of Muskegon, MI; 1 sister-in-law, Ann Kieft of Muskegon, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude on July 19, 2002. SERVICE Monday, May 5, 2003, 11:00 AM at the Clock Chapel with Pastor Dwight Reed officiating. Interment at Egelston Township Cemetery. VISITATION Monday, one hour prior to the service at Clock Funeral Home. MEMORIAL: Muskegon Rescue Mission. Clock - Muskegon
