Dorothy E. Simonson

Dorothy Elizabeth Simonson, age 99, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019. She was born in Stony Lake, MI on November 25, 1919 to Amiel & Edwinna (Hunt) Burmeister and married E. Wayne Simonson on March 5, 1940. Dorothy had been employed as a long distance telephone operator and secretary for GTE for 25 years until retiring. Dorothy was a member of White Lake Congregational UCC. SURVIVORS Children, Carmen (Colon) Black of IN, Larry (Judith) Simonson of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Kenneth (Joan) Black of CA, Jerry Black of IN, Amy Black of IN, Michael (Angela) Black of IN, Ellen Bowman of VA, Martin Simonson of IA; great grandchildren, Alicia Black, Lorelei Bowman; siblings, Max Burmeister of Muskegon, Jack Burmeister of Muskegon, Ona Isley of Shelby & Ethel Hallett of Charlotte; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, parents, her siblings, Leonard, Norman, Harold, Joseph and Luella Burmeister, Marjorei Sedig, Donna Porter and great grandchild, Heather Black. SERVICE A memorial service will take place in the spring.
