Dorothy Louise Quigg, age 80 of Norton Shores, passed away at a Muskegon Care Facility on Sunday, October 19, 2008. She was born December 29, 1927 in Hanover Township, Michigan to Lyle and Elizabeth (Foster) Heath. Dorothy married Duane L. Quigg on May 2, 1998 in Concord, Michigan and subsequently moved to the West Michigan area. Mrs. Quigg was a graduate of Concord High School and Ferris State College and was Director of Pharmacy at Albion Hospital for 30 years. She served as clerk for Concord Presbyterian Church Session and taught Sunday School. She later became a member of the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church. She served as a Cub Scout Leader, Child Study Club and PTA in Concord and mentored at Holmes School in Spring Lake. She volunteered with Friends of the Library in Jackson and Spring Lake and for Hospice in Jackson. She served as the Health Officer, Village of Concord and as a member of the AAUW and ELT in Albion. She enjoyed gardening, duplicate bridge, sewing, cooking and baking. She had an appreciation for music, art, reading and travel. She was fortunate to have circumvented the globe with family as well as attending many Elder Hostels with friends. She will be missed by her many devoted friends and loving family with whom she shared these interests. Dorothy is survived by her husband of ten years, Duane; three children, Carol Thomas of Southfield, MI, Robert (Mona) Carmody of Manitou Beach, MI, and Colleen (Greg) Liszewski of Winter Springs, FL; six grandchildren; Stepson Mark (Marcella) Quigg of Norton Shores and their four children; two brothers, James (Delane) Heath and Charles (Joann) Heath; sister Mary Stephens and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Robert (Arlene) Heath, David (Louise) Heath and Marion (Carolyn) "Butch" Heath and two sisters, Dr. Ann (Robert) Harrison and Janet (Jerry) Nicholson. A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church. Memorials in Dorothy's name may be made to the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church or Hackley Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice, Inc.
