Britzen, Mrs. Dorothy May Muskegon, Michigan On December 6th, 2020, Heaven welcomed our spunky pillar of strength, Dorothy May Britzen (Gibbs). The gardens of paradise will now be more beautiful than ever in her care. And, all its residents will never be without delicious baked goods prepared with her loving hands. But, a plentiful share of Neapolitan ice cream and chocolate chip muffins are reserved to satisfy her sweet tooth. Her big heart and generous nature were always evident. Dorothy dedicated 23 years working at General Hospital. She was a very social person who treasured her family, friends and neighbors. She never missed an opportunity to help when the need arose. She also had a deep love for animals beginning in childhood and especially adored her "grand-dogs". And then there was the shopping... Rows and rows of clothing racks were no match for Dottie's quest for current fashions. She always had style. That style showed itself every holiday season as well, in her imaginative and "precise" decorating and love of Christmas songs. There was nothing that she couldn't do once she put her mind to it. Most importantly though, she will be remembered by her family and friends as strong, independent and loving with a touch of feistiness. SURVIVORS Dorothy leaves behind three daughters who love her beyond words, Katherine (Scott) Olsen, Deborah (David) Strait, and Jacqueline (Bill); Britzen-Reek; six adoring grandchildren, Alexandra (Brent) Guikema, Christopher (Leesa) Strait, Rachel (Charlie) Haglund, David II (Lisa) Strait, Toni (Josh) Serio and Ashlee (Gavin) Morris; nine beautiful great grandchildren, Trevor, Ryleigh, Lauren, Bryce, Bella, Joslynn, Connor, Wyatt, and Carter; step-sister Nancy Frank and step-brother's Victor and Robert Signs; She was proceeded in death by her parents and two step-sisters.
