Dorothy M. Boyden, age 83, passed away Friday, April 20, 2007, at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. She was born January 20, 1924, to George and Gertrude (Wenthold) Reding in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and she married Joseph Boyden on November 4, 1946, in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2006. Dorothy had been employed at Blueberry Hill, and she enjoyed volleyball, bowling, and exercising. She was a volunteer for the former Ground Observer Corps, as well as a former 4-H leader and a member of the MSU Home Extension Program. Survivors include two daughters, Sandra (Dan) Dunning of Fruitport and Linda (Bob) Lemieux of Coopersville; three grandchildren, Daniel Dunning and Scott and Casey Lynn Lemieux; a brother, Andrew Reding of Chickasha, OK; and a nephew, George (Nancy) Dobry of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Boyden. The service for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, 12 noon, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Leonard Sudlik as celebrant. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials to the Casey Lemieux Fund at the Coopersville Area Community Foundation, Alzheimer's Association, or to Harbor Hospice are appreciated.
