Dorlene D. Bennett

Mrs. Dorlene D. Bennett, age 92 passed away at a Minnesota care home following a long illness. Dorlene was born in Casnovia, MI on July 8, 1915 to Steven and Minnie (Carr) Thompson and moved to Muskegon as a young woman. She married Mr. Gordon G. Bennett on March 20, 1931 Gordon preceded her in death in 1980. Mrs. Bennett was a former member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by: two sons, Fredrick (Billie) Bennett of Muskegon and Gordon "Jim" (Jacqueline) Bennett of Norton Shores; daughter, Dorlene "Dee" Wilson of Circle Pines, MN; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at: The Lee Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 On Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 11:00 A.M., Rev Paul Bengtson officiating. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: To the family.
