Doris Mae Whalen WHALEN, MRS. DORIS MAE Ravenna, MI Doris Mae (Klein) Whalen, age 80, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2006 following a long illness. Doris was born on January 22, 1926 to the late Everett and Cecile (Blackmer) Anderson. She attended Zoll Public School, and graduated from Ravenna High. In 1947 Doris married Lawrence Klein and lived in Coopersville for 42 years. He preceded her in death in 1990. In 1992 she married Robert Whalen and they returned to Ravenna. Doris was a member of St. Catherine's Alter Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. Doris is survived by husband, Robert Whalen; 2 Sons: Larry and Cindy Klein of Walker, Tony and Debbie Klein of Muskegon; 5 Daughters: Jean and Bob McCullough of Kent City, Judy and David VanderLinde of Walker, Mary Jane Klein of Pittsburg, PA, Marsha and Rick Klenk of Grand Rapids and Shirley and Mark Baker of Grandville; 16 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Ardis Rasor of Lansing; 3 Step Children: Bill and Barb Whalen of Ionia, Anna and Larry Hanks of Muskegon and Ellen and Dale Hobart of Twin Lake; 7 Step Grandchildren; and 2 Step Great Grandchildren; Brother and Sisters in-law: Art and Betty Klein of Allendale, Kenneth and Arlene Klein of Hudsonville, Vincent and Bernie Klein of Grand Rapids, Loretta VanDyke of Walker, Bernadette Klein of Grand Rapids, Philomena Rosloniec of Grand Rapids. Doris was also preceded in death by her brother Lyle. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 11:00am at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Ravenna with Monsignor John Porter, Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery in Coopersville. The family will be present at the Throop Funeral Home in Ravenna on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 from 2:00 to 4:00pm & 6:00 to 8:00pm to receive friends.
