Doris passed peacefully at home. Born in Muskegon, Michigan to Glen and Joyce Thompson. Preceeded in death by her parents, sisters Sally (Thompson) Malkan, Patsy (Thompson) Bohle, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Doris is survived by her nieces Melissa (Dennis) Healy and their children Jamie, Madeline, and Spencer, Amanda Malkan and Doris' brother in law Bob Malkan.

Doris was in the first graduating class at Mona Shores HS and graduated from Ferris State University. Doris worked for Daniel's Gift Shop and Occidental Candy Shop in Muskegon and Wurzburgs and Steketee's in Grand Rapids. Doris went on to work in sales at Bayer Aspirin Company, and she also managed the Oakwood and Hillmount apartments as well as the Women's City Club. Doris retired from Hampton Lakes apartments office after 14 years.

Doris loved and cared for many cats who in turn, took care of her. Doris was never married and enjoyed living on her own surrounded by all of the things she loved. Doris also volunteered with Heritage Hill Association.

Doris' Best Friend Bonnie Holcomb and husband Harold could always make her laugh.

Doris was grateful to be sober since February 19, 1981 with the help of her AA friends.

VISITATION

Friday, November 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Clock Funeral Home. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
