Doris Leona Elwell, age 97, passed away peacefully, Monday November 20, 2023. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on November 3, 1926 to C. Henry & M. Lena (Sprague) Schramm. Doris excelled in several sports at Muskegon High School, she graduated from Baker College, and held various secretarial jobs. Doris married Theodore Elwell on January 6, 1951. She helped establish the Elkettes a group for the wives of Elk members, she and Ted were lifelong members at Central United Methodist Church. Decorating her home and singing brought her joy, she will be remembered for her sense of humor and her devotion to her family. The family gives special thanks for the kindness and care shown to Doris and Ted from the staff at Robinwood Northcrest and Gentiva Hospice.

Daughters; Patricia (Terry) Dornbos, Barbara (Rick Zuber) Sliwinski, 4 grandchildren; Jill (Douglas) Roik, Jay Dornbos, Leah Sliwinski & Alaina Sliwinski; 3 great grandchildren, twins Anthony and Allison Roik and Austin Roik. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Ted in (Dec 23, 2022), sister; June Dean, bother-in-law George Dean.
