Doris Albert

Mrs. Doris Mae Albert, age 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 7, 2007. She was born in Muskegon Heights, MI on October 23, 1924 to David & Anna (Andersen) Robarge & graduated from Muskegon Heights in 1942. Doris worked for Sealed Power before marrying Bob (Robert) Albert on April 24, 1947, and they were happily married until May, 1995 when Bob went to be with the Lord. Bob worked for Vandervelde's Furniture for 38 years while Doris took care of the home front. The most important part of her life was her love for the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior much of her adult life, and was a very active member at Calvin Christian Reformed Church. One of her favorite Bible verses was Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Doris had lived at Seminole Shores Assisted Living Center since 2001. The family especially thanks Heather Bush and all the staff at the Terrace for the wonderful care and love they showed mom during the years she lived under their watchful eyes. Thanks also goes to Harbor Hospice for all the special care they gave Doris during her last months. Surviving are her children, Dave (Jane) Albert of Grand Rapids, Judy (Bob) Hunt of Muskegon & Mary (Terry) Darling of Spring Arbor; 4 grandchildren, Katie & Chrissy Albert & David & Michael Darling; 3 grand-dogs; 1 sister, Marge Bowmaster of Muskegon; 1 sister-in-law, Gertrude Robarge. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Albert, twin brother Jack Robarge, brothers Max & Vernon Robarge & two siblings who passed away when they were very young.
